“This letter is written in recommendation of Mark Sauer Construction, Incorporated, a construction company based in Corona, California, that specializes in seismic retrofit, adobe restoration and church restoration. When one of the roof rafter tails in our historic Mission Church failed, we discovered that all eighty-one roof rafter tails needed to be repaired or replaced due to severe termite, water and dry root damage. Because our Mission Church is designated as a national, state and local historic landmark, the City of San Diego stipulated that to be eligible to bid on our project, a contractor must have had successful experience with at least four other projects on historic buildings done under the special guidelines of the U.S. Secretary of the Interior for historic buildings.

Two other construction companies bid on our project, and we were very pleased that Mark Sauer Construction was not only the low bidder, but also the contractor with the most experience in completing similar projects in a timely and professional fashion. We were so pleased with the work that Mark Sauer Construction did in repairing and restoring the roof rafter tails of the Mission Church that we contracted them to repair or replace the roof rafter tails of all of the other buildings on the Mission grounds. They also repaired any number of damaged elements in other buildings, all in a timely and cost-effective manner.
The competence and professionalism of everyone on Mark Sauer’s team are quite remarkable, as are their sense cooperation and “can-do” attitude about any and all unexpected problems that surfaced during the project. It is my pleasure to recommend Mark Sauer Construction, Incorporated, wholeheartedly and without reservation for any project that the Archdiocese of Los Angeles might be putting out to bid.”

“Mark Sauer’s knowledge, background, and experience over the past five years have been invaluable in restoring my three buildings in downtown Chino. Your company provides great value and your advice is priceless. No one should begin a restoration project without consulting MSC first.”

“I have worked professionally, since 1989, with Mark Sauer Construction. I have always been impressed with their knowledge of the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Historic Preservation and their commitment to the client’s project. Our historic preservation clients are frequently not-for-profits or public institutions on extremely tight budgets; I highly value Mark Sauer’s ability to advise the client on the most effective use of the limited funds available.”
